Fees & Rebates
Clinical Treatment
Stephens & Bradley Psychology charge $160.00 per 45 to 60 minute session. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Accepted forms of payment include eftpos, direct electronic funds transfer, cash and cheque.
Many psychologists determine their fees based on the Australian Psychological Assocaition (APS) recommendation of fees. Currently the APS recommend a 45 to 60 minute fee of $260.00.
If you are seeking treatment under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you need to bring your GP's referral and the MHCP to your initial appointment.
To make an appointment you can ring (02) 8667 3206. Alternately you can contact us via email at admin@stephensbradley.com.au.
In various circumstances Stephens & Bradley do reduce their fees for clients who may experience financial hardship. Financial hardship is restricted to individuals who are recipients of newstart allowance, disability support pensions, and aged care pensions or similar government support payments.
Medicare Rebate
If your GP approves a (Medicare) Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) Medicare will re-imburse you $87.45 per one-hour session for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year. Recently the Federal Government also approved a further 10 sessions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Payment must be made at the time of treatment and after re-embersement treatment will cost $72.55 per session.
Stephens & Bradley may be able to assist individuals in difficult financial circumstances in order to assist the client and reduce the 'out of pocket expenses'. If you are experiencing financial hardship you are encouraged to relay your concerns to staff. However it is expected that individuals who are employed or have financial assets that support them would not seek the assistance that is designed to assist individuals who do not have those financial resources.
Private Health Insurance
Many private health funds offer rebates for psychological services. We are registered providers with most of the major health care funds .
