Adolescent diversion, support and treatment has long been an area that lacks appropriate focus of attention. Many adult clients who attend Stephens & Bradley for forensic assessment, treatment and court reports had very troubled or difficult adolescence. Unfortunately if those adults had been provided opportunities during their adolescence it is likely they would not have had the need to see the staff and psychologists at Stephens & Bradley.
Brad, our company owner, has always believed change made early in life can have significantly positive results for society generally and specifically for individuals. As he built the practice from the ground up he always felt prevention was the key to a lot of criminal activity and associated life difficulties.
In the recent months Stephens & Bradley have found themselves in a position to begin providing group based intervention and support programs to adolescent youth. It is hoped the programs will provide support and assistance to adolescents who may be without support from their family or community. The programs are designed to improve self esteem, reduce anti-social behaviour, support education and employment goals, build resilience, combat mental illness to name a variety of issues.
Pilot programs are planned to begin in the Wollongong area in 2020 and if successful the programs will be rolled out to other areas.
Keep an eye out on this page for upcoming programs and information.
If you are interested in participating in the programs or if your Organisation has adolescents you would like to refer to our programs please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
